Fake Credit Card

Fake Credit Card

The credit card is an important ally of the consumer. It facilitates the time to pay the bills, makes it possible to install the debt in installments and streamlines the purchases that can be made quickly in commercial establishments and even over the internet. Credit card usage is increasingly widespread in all sectors and across the network. And for that very reason, care needs to be redoubled by the consumer. There are many scams with fake credit card or cloned card.

Credit card cloning takes place through a device popularly called “chupa-cabra” - a card reader that copies the magnetic stripe and the credit card number. Sometimes, the equipment has a camera that records the customer entering the password. Other times, it is the employee of the commercial establishment who acts in bad faith, copying the signature made by the customer on the receipt. In possession of this data, fraudsters manufacture a fake credit card and go shopping, making debts on behalf of the cardholder, who may end up with a dirty name in the square. The so-called “chupa cabra” is placed by fraudsters in ATMs and commercial card readers. That is why it is so important to always keep an eye on the card, never hand it over and allow it to be taken without your presence.

On the internet, care should be taken with false messages, which send viruses with a spy file, to copy the password and card number. Or messages that ask to click on unknown links and request confirmation of data. In most cases, these viruses are hidden in fake emails from financial institutions and the government. The main brands systematically invest in innovative security systems. The Mastercard, for example, is the most popular in the country and responsible for more than 16 billion transactions per year worldwide, the vast majority free from the possibility of fraud, thanks to the company's efforts.

Unicard Unibanco cards have the so-called Uniprotection. They are protected by a package of services and technologies that guarantee total security in transactions made with your card. It has differentiated services, such as 30 Hour Protection, Fraud Detection System and Self-Assigned Password. Despite all the investment made by the companies responsible for credit cards, the cardholder is primarily interested in the security of the card, who needs to be careful and never pass on personal information to strangers, in person, over the internet or by phone. Much less open files attached to emails from unknown senders or strange messages.
In the event of suspected card fraud or cloning, the consumer must immediately notify the administrator and request the card to be blocked or canceled. And if the card gets stuck in an ATM, contact the bank at the same time.
